My days in the office are typically slow for most of the year. It is pretty common for me to scroll Reddit to pass the time. Somewhere in the feed, I found this video and have also found it on Instagram.
I’ve been trying to do this for a few years now, and this was just another needed kick in that direction. I don’t want my kids to remember me staring at my phone all the time. Honestly, I don’t want them to have a smart phone; it still so much from you.
I want to trade it all for being invested in conversations, making memories, creating tangible art, and letting go of this idea that people will wonder about me if I don’t post something. I am not so special, and I hate that this device and its attachment to social media that steals our time and makes us angry.
So, here I go again. Like it was in college for me, creating tangible art, focused. This will be snippits of my journey, and I hope you can be inspired to unplug, as well.
